16th ANNUAL BAYOU FEST

COMING TO DUKE ISLAND PARK ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 12

Concert begins at special time - 5:30 p.m.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The 16th Annual Somerset County Park Commission Bayou Fest is scheduled for Duke Island Park on Old York Road in Bridgewater on Sunday, August 12, 2012, beginning at the special time of 5:30 P.M. The Bayou Fest will feature a sensational selection of Cajun and Southern cooking and the best Louisiana dance music to be found in the Northeast. Featured performers are the VooDudes and Jeffery Broussard & the Creole Cowboys.

Taking the stage at the special starting time of 5:30 P.M. will be New Jersey’s own Mardi Gras Party Band, the VooDUDES who will strut their musical stuff to kick off this year’s Bayou Fest.  A mixed bag of Creole Soul, Swamp Funk, and Bayou Boogie, the VooDUDES incorporate elements of R&B, boogie-woogie, Zydeco, Latin, honky-tonk gospel, southern folk, and island music into their own distinctive blend of what can only be described as Louisiana music with a New Jersey accent.

Following at 7:00 P.M., Jeffery Broussard & The Creole Cowboys will continue to introduce their hot new band on the Zydeco scene. They deliver great renditions of Creole classics, as well as their own brand of contemporary Zydeco. Jeffery Broussard & The Creole Cowboys represent a new generation of Zydeco, presented with contemporary flair and expertise. They create incredible music with outstanding performances, inspiring new Creole zydeco fans.

Bayou Fest sponsor is Magic 98.3-WMGQ-FM Radio.
