Here are this week's picks:
Youth Auction
When/Where: Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Somerville Elks Lodge on Union Avenue in Bridgewater.
Why Go: To support the Bridgewater United Methodist Church Youth Organization, which is holding an auction for such prizes as a one-week stay at a Florida vacation condo, a long weekend stay at a home in Vermont, Disney tickets, Papermill Playhouse tickets and more.
Cost: $40 at the door.
Bridgewater Eco-Blast Fair
When/Where: Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Bridgewater Municipal Complex, at Kid Street, in Bridgewater.
Why Go: To learn more about sustainable living, learn green practices and to see a talking robot hang out with the crowd.
Cost: Free.
Martinsville Community Center Open House
When/Where: Saturday at 11 a.m. at the center on Washington Valley Road in Bridgewater.
Why Go: To renew your membership at the center, check out what it has to offer, listen to live music and eat, eat, eat!
Cost: Free.
Rabies Clinics
When/Where: Saturday starting at 10 a.m. for dogs, and 11 a.m. for cats at the Bradley Gardens Fire Company on Old York Road.
Why Go: To have your dogs and cats immunized against rabies.
Cost: Free.
Strive for 5K
When/Where: Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Prince Rodgers Complex on Prince Rodgers Avenue.
Why Go: To support the Bridgewater Baseball 12U team in its fundraiser to raise enough money to get to its Cooperstown, New York tournament. This is also part of the Mayors Wellness Campaign in Bridgewater.
Cost: Free.
Central Jersey Symphony
When/Where: Sunday at 3 p.m at Raritan Valley Community College at the Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School.
Why Go: To see the final concert of the season with two New Jersey artists, violinist Evelyn Estava and cellist Jameson Platte, joining forces on Brahms' Double Concerto. Also on the program is Gabriel Faure's "Pelleas et Melisande" and Respighi's "Ancient Airs and Dances."
Cost: $20 for general admission, $15 for students and $10 for seniors.
