According to a Bound Brook police officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to provide information about the investigation, the Bound Brook police and other agencies, including the Bridgewater Police Department, are investigating a shooting that wounded two victims.
The condition of the victims was not immediately known, but the officer confirmed one needed to be airlifted to an area hospital.
Unconfirmed reports indicate the shooting occurred near the Bound Brook Train Station on West Main Street—about a mile from the Bridgewater Township line—at about 6 p.m.

the person who got killed is my cousin. i'm not sure why they have it as gang related because to my knowledge he is not in any gangs. i'm not familar with the area he was shot in but i would like to know if the train station is equipped with cameras. if your friend did see something and would like to help then i would appreciate if he/she could contact authorities at (877) 577-8477 or online at www.888577tips.org or via the “Crime Stoppers” link on the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office website. Thanks in advance

I was on my porch in South Bound Brook, right across from the canal over looking the train station. I heard what sounded like 4 or 5 "pops" which to me sounded like firecrackers. I realized something was fishy when I saw about 5 or 6 guys running from where I heard the sounds. I didnt have a great view because it is a bit of a distance. There were also another two people I saw on the canal trail who heard what I did and observed as the people were running from the scene. It became apparent something bad had happened when about 10 minutes later cops and ambulances were on the scene, then came the search helicopter.
