The New Jersey Youth Symphony, including several students from Bridgewater-Raritan High School—will be taking its talents to Carnegie Hall.

The symphony will be performing on the famed stage Feb. 24 at 8:30 p.m., and will be under the direction of Jeffrey Grogan, artistic director.

The concert, called the Instrumental Music Festival, will also include performances from the Shelby High School Orchestra and InterSchool Orchestras of New York.

Performing from BRHS will be Scott Gulbin on the bassoon, Brian Jeremiah on the trumpet, Ben Dettelback on the trombone, Nicolaus Schrum on the euphonium, Will Gubin on the French horn, Alison Ho on the clarinet, Seung Eun Lee on the violin, Rachel Lesser on bass, Sharanya Pulapura on the viola and Sydney Whaley on bass.

According to a release on the performance, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Music Director Jacques Lacombe conducted the youth orchestra at one of its regular rehearsals.

The symphony itself, according to the release, is the orchestral and ensemble organization of Wharton Music Center, a non-profit charitable organization that provides music education to students in grades three through 12.

Auditions are held annually to perform with the organization.
