Bridgewater Man Charged with Marijuana Possession
The following arrest information was supplied by the Bridgewater Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
A Bridgewater resident was arrested for marijuana possession after the drug was found on his person during a traffic stop Jan. 26, according to Bridgewater Township Police.
Arthur Bouvier, IV, 20, was charged with possession of marijuana after he was pulled over for speeding on Finderne Avenue at 12:16 a.m.
According to police, officers detected the smell of marijuana in Bouvier's vehicle when he was pulled over, and a bag of the drug was found in his pants pocket.
Police said Bouvier was processed on the charge and released.
Police made several other arrests for hindering apprehension and shoplifting throughout the week.
- Russell Maryott, 25, of East Brunswick, was charged with hindering apprehension and driving with a suspended driver's license after he lied to police at the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Route 202 at 2:17 p.m. Jan. 27. Police said that Maryott told officers he was the passenger of the motor vehicle, when he was actually the driver.
- Matthew Fitzpatrick, 21, of Scotch Plains, was charged with driving while intoxicated and obstructing traffic after he was pulled over while driving on Morgan Lane at 2:53 a.m. Jan. 21.
- Mark Baumgardner, 54, of Pennsylvania, was charged with shoplifting after he was allegedly found with $311.29 worth of unpaid-for merchandise from Wegmans at 4:10 p.m. Jan. 25.
- Police are investigating a report that four men entered True Religion in the Bridgewater Commons Mall around 2:30 p.m. Jan. 25, and removed three pairs of jeans from the store. The merchandise was valued at $1,051.
