Brett Charleston, former principal in Egg Harbor Township, is beginning his first year at Bridgewater-Raritan High School in two weeks—and he's looking forward to making his mark at this top-rated school.

Charleston sat down with Patch to discuss everything from his goals for the school and his opinion on iPads in the classrooms, to longer class periods and a desire to spruce up the grounds.

Every day this week we will feature Charleston's thoughts, with a video a day, helping everyone get geared up for the first day of school Sept. 5.

Here, Charleston talks about the idea of extending the length of class periods, and how that could work for students.
