Christie Meeting With Jewish Leaders at JCC
The governor has just returned from a trip to Israel.
Gov. Chris Christie is meeting Wednesday with Jewish leaders at the Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center to discuss his recent trip to Israel.
The meeting is not public, but Christie will be meeting with local Jewish leaders to discuss the trip.
According to nj.com, Christie spent Holy Week in Jerusalem for a trade mission and tour. He also visited Jordan with his family before returning to New Jersey.
Christie, the article said, traveled with 13 business and religious leaders, and met with Israeli leaders Benjamin Netanyahu and Shimon Perez.
The article said the trip was financed by the Republican Jewish Coalition, a Washington-based lobbying group, and Choose NJ, which is an economic development group that is funded by corporate donations. Neither has disclosed the amount of their sponsorship, the article said.
According to nj.com, taxpayers paid for Christie's security detail. Those costs will be released by the governor's office once they are tabulated.
