Motorcyclist Airlifted After 287 Crash

Accident took place around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.

A motorcycle accident on Sunday night left one victim in serious condition and required a medical evacuation from the New Jersey State Police, according to Trooper Christopher Kay of the state police.

The accident occurred near mile marker 16.6 on the southbound side of Route 287 in Bridgewater, which was shut down after state police received the call at 7:33 p.m. in order to transport the victim to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, Kay said.

The driver has not yet been identified by the state police.

All lanes on I-287 have been reopened as of 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, said Kay.

I'm quite surprised he survived. I was driving in one of the cars his group had just passed and was convinced the guy at the back was going to crash since he was riding like a complete asshole splitting lanes at over 100 mph in 70 mph traffic. To be honest his whole Club was wreckless and should all be held responsible for his wreck. I've ridden for 20 years on all types of bikes including sport bikes and could easy see a crash was coming. Then in 2 miles a cloud of dirt, a lifeless body, and a bike on fire. I will say I'm sure Edwin is a great guy with a huge heart, but he should reconsider ever getting on a bike again. He will not be the last accident in the group I saw him riding with. It's riding like that, that puts vinyl decals all over the back of cars remembering a family member or loved one day in and day out.

Just came across the article on this tragic and horrific accident that happened to my Newphew Edwin. Regardless of what happened that night (I was not present) a driver of any vehicle has an obligation to stop when they hit a person or a domestic pet. Obviously this other driver from the vehicle had something to hide. Perhaps she was the "Ahole" and she was most likely under the influence, if we want to go ahead and make assumptions.... If it were your relative "witness" you would have wanted that driver to stop or turn themselves in to let the law pass judgement..
