Elections 2012: Two Council Candidates
Elections will be held Tuesday despite power outages from Hurricane Sandy.
Despite rampant power outages throughout the township, Tuesday's elections will go on as planned, and the township council is seeing two candidates for one open spot on the Bridgewater Township Council.
Republican councilman Filipe Pedroso is running for a term after having been chosen to fill a term vacated by Dan Hayes when he was elected mayor in the 2011 elections.
Democrat William Metz, a first-time candidate, is running against the incumbent in the elections.
Polls will be open Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Although many of the polling locations are without power, the districts are being divided around town, with a few districts being moved to alternate locations. Mobile polling stations, sent to the township by the state, will be used in locations where power has not been restored.
Pedroso and Metz discussed their thoughts on multiple issues in the township prior to the elections, answering questions on budgets, economy and much more.
