With the municipal elections coming on Nov. 6, we thought it would be a good time to hear directly from the candidates themselves about the issues that matter to residents.

On six different days this week, we will feature video responses from the two candidates on questions concerning the budget, the economy and roadwork.

The candidates are Repbulican incumbent Filipe Pedroso and Democrat William Metz.

For this first question, we asked the candidates to talk about the municipal budget.

Glad Mr Metz could take time out to "look at the budget briefly"....considering School expenditures are about 60% of residents property taxes.....
Reminds me of Pelosi's infamous "You'll find out what's in the bill after we pass the bill."

Mayor Hayes had a tough year to do his first budget, given the drops in State Aid, the new budget cap and employee contract issues he had to deal with. Fortunately, we are growing our tax base again.
