The trees keep touching the power lines on Caste Rock and Nolans and it is arching and catching on fire for a bit. Happened a few times now. Lights up the whole sky, scary as anything. Called 911, but they said they can add it to the list.

Tried to get off hillcrest, the back way was blocked, locust was blocked, finally dared the way down to south street around the downed tree and made it. You should see the front of Morristown high.

Hoping we do not expect our local governments to be more powerful than nature...otherwise we are setting ourselves up for disappointment. Relax and trust that when it is safe for the utilities to be out there, they will be...unless your life is much more important than most of ours in which case dial G for God.

Do not leave the cats alone in a cold building especially with how cold it is outside. It could be days before power is back. You should go to the house and make sure they are okay. Call vets and ask if they can stay there or find a place that boards cats. That way they always have water, food and aren't freezing.

We would like to thank all of JCP&L as well as out of town helpers from Toledo who restored power to our area on the north side of Morris Township. It was done quickly and efficiently. Since there are many elderly folks in our area and others with medical issues who really are unable to go the shelters, it was a real G-d send! There are no words to express how grateful we are to you and your technical expertise! We wish quick recovery for all other areas since we know what it is like to be without any service for extended periods of time. If any one is in need of any help please contact the Patch here and we can see how we can help you.

Give credit when it's due Jerry. Whether or not the power is back, these guys are still working rather hard and one must take it as it comes. Be thankful for wood in a fireplace to keep warm and the fact that we have two hands to wash the dishes. I did this for seven days with Irene and it drove me nuts. We take so much of our technology for granted. Think if we didn't have any of it. Hopefully most of us have the basics Although tired of the 'camping bit', I'm thankful to have a roof over my head and a warm fire to sit next to through out the night. Tired? Yes. Thankful? Most certainly. JCP&L guys work like crazy with the help of out of state companies to do the best they can, leaving their own families for days on end to tend to US. Be thankful and enjoy the 'olden times of yesteryear' . Just saying...I've learned to chill.

Our local d.p.w and township workers deserve credit (even though you demolished my mailbox!). They are always on call, and have to keep working long hours with no thank you at all. They clean our roads, clear up trees and keep our towns looking nice. They work all night long without sleep. It's easy to bash people but let's give a little credit where it's due. And remember.....next time it snows, when the plow comes down your street, give a little thank you to the driver.
