Marching Band Continues Sweep

The high school band continues to take top honors in competitions.

New Jersey marching bands of all sizes, ranging from class 1 to class 6, convened at Northern Highlands High School for the United States Scholastic Bands Association [USSBA] competition Oct. 1.

Bridgewater-Raritan High School was among them in class 6.

This band—led by senior drum major Nick Massa and directors Larry Markiewicz and Gary Myer—put on a spectacular show, winning highest score overall and claiming all caption awards.

Then, on Oct. 9, the band competed in the USSBA competition at Bergenfield High School, taking first in the category and sweeping all caption awards, including visuals, percussion, music and best overall.

The band will play another show at Giants Stadium on Oct. 15.

Our football team isn't that good this year, but at least we can all enjoy watching an award winning band at every half time show. At last nights game, they showed off a new move but it also appears that they removed a section of the show too.

Nick's last name is Mossa, not Massa.
