Hate it when they use mile markers for location.

Mile markers are near exits -- ie. 25.5 and 28 near interchange 26 off Route 287. Unfortunately, can't think of a better way! LS

Today, I was on Mount Airy heading north, at goltra. I was at less than 15 mph. Hit a patch of very slippery snow or ice and my car spun slowly about one full turn. Luckily I was going slowly and there was no traffic, and I was able to recover.

What REALLY saved me when I was a new driver was studded tires — no longer permitted in NJ.

In my case, driving as slow as 15 mph helped me regain control without hitting the pavement, trees, etc., and the lack of oncoming traffic was a blessing. Studded tires aren't permitted here since they damage the road surface, like Linda said.
