Patch is relaunching its Readers’ Choice program and we’re asking you, your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers and anyone else who knows about parks to nominate the best in Somerset County.
We’ll keep accepting nominations through July 9. After that, nominations will be closed and we’ll start the voting, so make sure to get in your favorites now.
All you need to do to nominate a business is to add it in the comments below. If you already see the business you want to nominate, make sure to add your comment about why it should be included, because we may not be able to add all businesses and we want to make sure the top ones make it into the poll.

I like the park by the Hillsborough municipal building / library. It's a great place to go because most of it is raised off of the ground and doesn't get muddy when we have prolonged periods of damp or rainy weather. It also has plenty of seating for parents and people watching the kids.

Colonial Park. They revamped the kids' area, and it's a great place to take a long walk. Different areas of the park have activities and changes of scenery.

Duke Island for sure. Plenty of activities (fishing, hiking, biking, BBQ, play set) and never feels crowded.

Anyone try the hiking trails in the Sourland Mountains? I heard they are good, but I haven't tried them.

Love the Sourland trails! It's nice to have a good hike so close by. There are a few different routes that you can take, depending on how much climbing / how long of a hike you want to take. I highly recommend it.

Miles of trails wind through 450+ acres of fields, woods, and meadows. it's a great place to enjoy nature right in the heart of town.
