Nor'Easter Expected to Drop 4 Inches of Snow Friday
The storm could last Thursday evening through Saturday morning.
The Bridgewater Township Police department sent out a Nixle alert Wednesday afternoon concerning a briefing from the National Weather Service that is predicting the possibility of four or more inches of snow in Somerset County in a nor'easter possibly hitting the area beginning late Thursday.
According to the report from NWS, there is currently the potential for eight or more inches of snow possible in Northern New Jersey and the Poconos in Pennsylvania. In addition, the threat of bad weather is escalating for the Friday evening commute because of the planned timing of the heaviest snowfall and increasing winds.
The nor'easter is expected to initially hit the area beginning late Thursday and lasting through Saturday morning, with the possibility of heavy snow, coastal flooding and wind. That heaviest snowfall, the report said, is expected around the time of the Friday evening commute.
According to maps from the NWS, Somerset County is expected to see at least four inches of snowfall at this point.
Although winds could gust up to 35 miles per hour at inland locations and even up to 45 miles per hour along the coastal areas of New Jersey, Central Jersey is only expected to see around 18-mile-per-hour winds.

I would expect more of those teetering utility polls to come down again.

Looks like JCPL is already having power outages in *anticipation* of the storm. Our power is out (Smokerise Road in Warren). Outage map shows a wide area is affected: http://outages.firstenergycorp.com/nj.html
