Only 10% Turn Out for Primary Elections
Primary election results are in.
With less than 10 percent of registered voters taking part in Tuesday's primary elections, Republican candidate Filipe Pedroso and Democratic candidate Wiliam Metz earned their nominations for township council in uncontested primaries.
A total of 2,710 votes were cast, out of 28,375 registered voters.
Pedroso earned 1,812 votes, and officially earned the Republican nomination.
Metz received 526 votes, and officially earned the Democratic nomination.
Both are running in the November elections to fill an unexpired term after Pedroso was chosen in January to fill a council position vacated by Mayor Dan Hayes.
Elections will be held Nov. 6.
