Bridgewater Edges Hunterdon Central in Home Opener

The Bridgewater-Raritan High School football team defeated Hunterdon Central 20-19 in the football home opener game at Basilone Field Friday.

According to a story on nj.com, BRHS senior Donny Stires threw for 324 yards in the game, and senior Michael Pennella scored two touchdowns for the Panthers.

The article said the Panthers (1-1) were trailing by five points at the half, but came back in the third quarter to win the game.

In addition, the Bridgewater-Raritan High School marching band held its first show of the season.

The team will next play Hillsborough at home Sept. 21 at 7 p.m.
