Route 206 near the Bridgewater Commons Mall is expected to be backed up for a while Tuesday as Bridgewater Township Police investigate an accident that has closed the right lane heading toward Route 287.

The accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. just past the entrance onto Commons Way off Route 206, and the northbound lanes are backed up in all directions.

Only the left lane is open.

Police dispatchers said there is currently an officer on scene at the accident, and they are continuing to investigate it.
