Tractor Trailer Catches Fire in Van Veghten Parking Lot

The truck, and two surrounding it, were destroyed in the fire.

A tractor trailer caught fire Sunday evening, destroying it and two others on Van Veghten Road, according to Bridgewater Township Police.

According to a release from the department, the driver of a tractor trailer parked his vehicle at Aztar Transportation on Van Veghten Road around 7:43 p.m. Sunday.

A short time after the driver left the vehicle, the release said, a fire began in the engine compartment of the tractor trailer. From there, the release said, the two tractor trailers on either side of the first vehicle also caught on fire.

All three trucks were destroyed in the fire.

Police said the fire has been deemed non-suspicious at this time.
