Two More Seniors Signed to College Teams

Kayla Sullivan and Taylor Mygatt are signed to play college field hockey.

Bridgewater-Raritan seniors Kayla Sullivan and Taylor Mygatt have each been signed to play field hockey in Fall 2012 at the college level.

According to Kathie DeBonis, varsity field hockey and lacrosse coach at , the girls were signed Wednesday on National Signing Day.

Sullivan, DeBonis said, will attend Bucknell University, joining the Bucknell Bison field hockey team.

This past seaon, Sullivan, who has not yet chosen a major, was named first team All Skyland, 1st Team All County, 1st Team All North Jersey and 1st Team Group 4 All-State, and she was a member of the Panthers field hockey team's defense. Sullivan has been a member of the field hockey and lacrosse teams for the past four years.

"Kayla has really done a great job, and has been a leader to all her teammates in all practices, games and in the off-season," DeBonis said. "Coaches do this for the love of the kids, and Kayla is an ideal example why."

Mygatt, who will study engineering, will attend Lehigh University and join the Mountain Hawks field hockey team.

During her time on the high school teams, Mygatt, who has played field hockey and lacrosse for three years, was named 1st Team Skyland and 2nd Team All County. In addition, Mygatt, as a midfielder, has been honored at National Women and Sports Day, and was named an Academic All American.

"Taylor is the consummate Panther," DeBonis said. "She strives for perfection both on and off the field. She is a great example for others to emulate and I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to have her in our program."
