Wintry Mix, Snow Expected Tuesday Into Wednesday
The police department issued a warning about weather conditions.
The Bridgewater Township Police Department has issued a winter weather advisory for Bridgewater from 10 p.m. Tuesday through 11 a.m. Wednesday.
According to the advisory, the National Weather Service is predicting sleet, snow and freezing rain.
Rain and sleet are expected to hit the area late Tuesday evening, the service said, and snow is expected to begin mixing with that overnight. The National Weather Service said some freezing rain is possible late Tuesday evening and early Wednesday morning before that wintry mix changes back to rain in the mid to late morning hours.
Closer to the early afternoon, the advisory said, the precipitation will end.
The advisory said to expect snow accumulations of an inch or less.
Impacts on the township could be untreated roads and walkways being covered with ice and snow, leading to hazardous conditions.
Temperatures are expected to be mainly in the 30s, and visibility is expected to be reduced to one half mile or less during the height of the precipitation.
According to the advisory, drivers should be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibility.
