We are looking at cars made outside the United States.
If you’re looking for a great new ride to get your day started off just right, we’ve got some vehicles being sold right around the corner. We are very patriotic, we admit it. But sometimes it is nice to get something out of this country, a little foreign-born—some believe they are of superior quality and value. A lot of ostensibly foreign vehicles are made in the U.S.A—and a lot of so-called "American" cars are constructed abroad. So this week, we are featuring a list of five cars that were developed across the pond, outside of the country we call home. 1. 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG — Used — $189,999 From Cars.com: Bred from a German company, this used vehicle, with 55 miles on it so far, has speed-sensitive power steering, aluminum space …

The owner already has one franchise in Martinsville.
He already has one in Martinsville, and now Woodbridge resident Upul Gunasekera is opening another franchise of the Sylvan Learning Center in Bedminster. “I bought the center five years ago, and one of the reasons I wanted to invest in it was because it was education oriented,” he said. Gunasekera, who himself has a masters degree in banking and finance from New York University, said his three children were taught at Sylvan Learning Center, and the franchise was available at the time he wanted to purchase it. “I chose the Bedminster location for many factors, including the territory as it is large and now I can cover all of Somerset County,” he said. “There is a large student population here, and it is 10 miles away from the town center so…

Estimated 400,000 people expected in region; team practices to be held in Florham Park and Media Day in Newark
The 2014 Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium is expected to have a $550 million economic impact on New Jersey and New York, with an estimated 400,000 people in the region, according to a report on dailyrecord.com. Businesses should start preparing for the flood of visitors now, according to speakers at The Big Game Huddle, an informational and networking event held Wednesday at Raritan Valley Country Club. “Start the celebration now,” said Wayne Hasenbalg, president and chief executive officer of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority. “You don’t have to wait until the week before the game," he told the dailyrecord.com. That impact will be felt in North and Central Jersey, as one of the competing teams will practice at the Atlantic …

These cars are from the mid-90s (and one from the mid-80s).
If you’re looking for a great new ride to get your day started off just right, we’ve got some vehicles being sold right around the corner. The Bridgewater Township Library is hosting its annual vintage car show this weekend, and so we thought it might be nice to get in the antique spirit. Although Somerset County locales are not selling exceptionally old vehicles, there are a few from the mid-90s, and one from the mid-80s, that might fulfill your need for, well, a kind of vintage car. 1. 1985 Ferrari Testarossa — Used — $59,900 From Cars.com: It only has 28,700 miles on it (not bad for an almost 30-year-old car), but it's got the leather interior, and—how vintage is this?—a working cassette radio. Available from private owner Kevin …

T-Mobile is looking at an alternate site for its cell tower.
A T-Mobile balloon test scheduled for May 11 at the Bridgewater Township Library has been cancelled because of expected bad weather, according to a post on the township's website. A new date has not yet been announced. The T-Mobile balloon test had first been scheduled for May 4, but was also cancelled because of forecasted high winds. With a settlement possible, T-Mobile will be conducting a balloon test to determine if there is a possibility for constructing a cell tower in a location other than the Green Knoll Fire House. The zoning board, in May 2012, denied an application from T-Mobile to build a cell tower at the fire house. T-Mobile subsequently filed suit against the township. According to a letter filed April 5 with the United …
Hospital scored as having higher number of patients develop blood clots than average scored facility, but fewer accidental cuts or tears from medical treatment.
When ranked along with more than 2,000 general hospitals in the country, Somerset Medical Center received a "B" grade on a newly released report card from Hospital Safety Score. Data shows the hospital was scored as having a higher number of patients who developed blood clots than in the average scored hospital. However, Somerset Medical Center reported fewer accidental cuts or tears from medical treatment. The hospital scored higher than the average hospital for ICU physician staffing and nursing workforce but scored below the average hospital for hand hygiene. In general, hospital scores from across the country show that hospitals have been working toward fewer accidents, injuries, errors or infections that kill or inflict patients, …

Advance Realty is moving into property formerly owned by Sanofi on Route 202/206, with the acquisition done through a partnership with CrossHarbor Capital Partners. Advance Realty is currently located in Bedminster, according to a release from the company, but it will be moving its headquarters to the Bridgewater campus, which is already home to Amneal Pharmaceuticals—which took 143,000 square feet of lab, office warehousing and light manufacturing space—and Ashland Specialty Ingredients. That entire campus, with 1.2 million square feet of lab, office and production, will be branded as the New Jersey Center of Excellence. Advance Realty, according to the release, has been an owner and developer of real estate in Somerset County for about …
