More About Rutgers Cooperative Extension
The Rutgers Cooperative Extension is supported by the United States Department of Agriculture, New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station, Rutgers University and the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders. The organization provides education and technical assistance in many different area such as agriculture, the environment, natural resource management, food safety, nutrition, health and youth development.
Rutgers Cooperative Extension educates adults and children through newsletters, classes, websites, 4-H clubs, camping and school programs, gardening workshops, volunteer training and collaboration with other agencies. The organization currently has about 650 volunteers who work throughout the community.
