More About Raritan Valley Country Club
This country club, originally organized in November 1911 at the estate of late Senator Joseph Frelinghuysen, overlooked about 150 acres across what is now Route 28. About 45 acres owned by the former senator were used for the club. The club officially opened in September 1912. The club was originally called the Somerville Country Club, but that name was changed in June 1917 to Raritan Valley. Many modifications have been made to the club since it was created: additional acres were added and the clubhouse was renovated in recent years. The club offers an expansive golf course and other amenities to members.
