The Somerville Metro Lions Club will host their 2nd Annual 5K Run/Walk to Curb Hunger on Saturday May 19th, 9:00am at Duke Island Park in Bridgewater. This years net proceeds will benefit SHIP (Samaritan Homeless Interim Program) and other local non-profit organizations.
On-site registration is open from 8:00am to 8:45am on Saturday at the Oak Grove Pavilion or visit www.SHIP908.com for more information.
An awards ceremony will be held at 10:30am with awards to the top finishers in each age category, plus refreshments and raffle prizes.

Duke Island Park features picnic areas, a softball field, a playground, walking trails, bike paths and athletic fields. Every summer, the park offers a concert series with free Sunday evening performances through the end of August. The park is home to many local plants and animals, including deer, owls, song birds, turtles and hawks.
