Deadline Nears for Donations of School Supplies

Donations can be dropped off at the senior citizen center

Today is the next-to-last day you can help township seniors help others.

The Bridgewater Senior Citizens Center is supporting the annual “Project First Class” school supplies collection, an initiative of the Somerset County Commission on the Status of Women.

 Donations of supplies will be distributed to children of families served by the Food Bank Network of Somerset County.
 
All school supplies are welcome in the collection program. Most in need are backpacks, notebooks, three-ring binders, paper, highlighters, markers, pens, pencils and Crayons.

 Donations of reference books, such as dictionaries and atlases, in CD-ROM format are also welcome.

Donations may be dropped off the Bridgewater Senior Citizens Center, 455 Somerville Road, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through Aug. 16 A collection box will be in the front lobby.

    
Donations may also be be dropped off at the Bridgewater Department of Human Services on the second d floor of the Municipal Complex, 100 Commons Way The donations will be accepted 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays.

In addition, donations may be dropped off at the Somerset County Freeholders’ Office on the third floor of the county administration building,20 Grove St., Somerville on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. through Aug. 16.For more information, contact Donna Langel, Bridgewater Senior Citizens Coordinator at (908) 575-8021 or by email at seniors@bridgewaternj.gov.
