BRIDGEWATER BASEBALL Opening Day Ceremony for the 2014 Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth League Season
Bridgewater Township, Somerset County, NJ (March 18, 2014) – The Bridgewater Baseball & Softball will hold its Opening Ceremony for this year’s Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth Baseball League on Saturday, April 5th, 2014 at 10am at the Bridgewater Parks and Recreation Department Prince Rodgers Baseball Complex.
Opening Ceremony is the official kickoff of the 2014 season for Bridgewater Baseball & Softball.

In addition to our opening day parade, we will be breaking ground for our new turf infields on Prince Rodgers Fields # 2 & #3, as well as, the grand opening of our newly renovated concession stand.
“We are excited for another great season and expect almost 500 boys and girls to participate in our opening day ceremonies”, said Diane Bellinger, President of Bridgewater Baseball & Softball. “This year is extra special as we honor Mark Hawkins. We’re excited to kick off our new season and looking forward to a great year of baseball and softball.” In addition to Mayor Hayes, the Somerset County freeholders will be in attendance along with Sparky Lyle, former New York Yankees Pitcher and Somerset Patriots Manager, and Steve Kalafer, owner, Somerset Patriots.
Bridgewater Baseball and Softball offers a wide variety of programs and is proud to host youth baseball and softball programs focused on living a healthy life while building spirit, mind and body. Bridgewater Township and local area residents are welcome to register and parents are invited to join in the fun as well through volunteering.
