BASKING RIDGE, NJ - The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge has scheduled the following Naturalist-led programs to help children and adults enjoy the wonder of nature as winter continues in control in Somerset County. The Environmental Education Center provides many entertaining and educational programs for children and adults year around.

CHILDREN & TEEN PROGRAMS
Backyard Birds
Friday, February 21 from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
Family and friends of all ages will learn about the feathered friends who
visit our backyards, learning about their adaptability, how to name
them, and what to feed them.
Fee is $6 per person.
Call to register 908-766-2489. Advance payment required.
Story Hour
Saturday, February 22 from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
Children ages infant to 5 with a parent will listen to a Naturalist read an
environmental-based story and enjoy a short walk on the trails of
the EEC.
The program is free.

The Green Team
Saturday, February 22 from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
Children ages 12 to 15 who have to fulfill a community service
requirement for school will enjoy the educational and fun activities
at the Environmental Education Center.

ADULT & FAMILY PROGRAMS
Bird Feeder Basics
Thursday, February 20 from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
Family and friends of all ages will join a Naturalist to learn how to
identify local birds by sight and sound while making a ‘recycle
feeder’ to take home.
Fee is $6 person.

Blue “BOBO (Buy One – Bring One) Fridays” bins now are located at the Environmental Education Center and Lord Stirling Stable in Basking Ridge, as well as at the Somerset County Park Commission headquarters at North Branch
Park in Bridgewater. The public is invited to drop off canned food or personal-care items for donation to Somerset County food banks.
