BASKING RIDGE, NJ - The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge has scheduled the following Naturalist-led programs to help children and adults enjoy the wonder and the beauty of nature as colors begin to change in Somerset County. The Environmental Education Center provides many entertaining and educational programs for children and adults year around.
CHILDREN & TEEN PROGRAMS
Story Hour
Saturday, November 9 from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
Children ages infant to 5 with a parent will listen to a Naturalist read an
environmental-based story and enjoy a short walk on the trails of
the EEC.
The program is free.

ADULT & FAMILY PROGRAMS
Meadowlands Mystery Birding Tour
Wednesday, November 6 from 9:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.
Adult birders will head to the Meadowlands to seek out migratory waders,
ducks, and winter raptors with the New York skyline as a
backdrop.
Fee is $40 per adult and $30 per senior.

Fall Birds
Saturday, November 9 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.
Family and friends of all ages will join a Naturalist to learn about New
Jersey birds, where some go in winter and why others stay behind.
Fee is $6 per person.

Bird Feeder Basics
Saturday, November 9 from 2:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.
Family and friends of all ages will join a Naturalist to learn how to
identify local birds by sight and sound while making a ‘recycle
feeder’ to take home.
Fee is $6 person.

Coyote Cries
Sunday, November 10 from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
Family and friends of all ages will join a Naturalist for a presentation that
will sort the myths from the facts about coyotes, education that is
important to people living in New Jersey.
The program is free.

Blue “BOBO (Buy One – Bring One) Fridays” bins now are located at the Environmental Education Center and Lord Stirling Stable in Basking Ridge, as well as at the Somerset County Park Commission headquarters at North Branch
Park in Bridgewater. The public is invited to drop off canned food or personal-care items for donation to Somerset County food banks.
