SOMERVILLE – Freeholder Patricia Walsh, Cultural & Heritage Commission liaison, invites residents to experience the amazing talent of Somerset County students who participated in Somerset County’s annual Teen Arts Festival in May.
A sampling of artwork has been selected for exhibit at two locations in Somerville: the Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Gallery in the county administration building, located at 20 Grove St., through Aug. 1 and the Student Gallery @ 40 North Bridge through Sept. 19. Both galleries are open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays.
At the May Festival approximately 1,300 teenagers from school districts countywide performed and showcased their artistic talents in seven different artistic disciplines: Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Theatre, Dance, Visual Arts, Creative Writing and Film/Video. Over 200 pieces of 2D and 3D art were shown in the Raritan Valley Community College Gallery during the Festival.

During the exhibit, several works were chosen from each school to exhibit in the Cultural & Heritage galleries. Chosen artwork was selected by professional artists who critiqued the work during the Teen Arts Festival.
