Somerset County Senior Centers Closed Feb. 14 Due to Weather.

The following Senior Centers operated by the Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services will be closed Friday, Feb. 14, due to inclement weather:  Raritan, Quail Brook, Warrenbrook, Hillsborough, Manville, Montgomery and the Senior Wellness Center in Bernards.

Every effort will be made to deliver Meals on Wheels (MOW) on Friday.  However, if delivery is not possible, MOW clients are asked to use the non-perishable meals sent out earlier in the season. If clients do not have frozen meals, or if they have lost power, they can use Heater Meals, the shelf-stable meals that come in an orange box.  It’s important that clients follow the directions for heating on the box. Heater Meals are NOT intended for use in a microwave or other types of ovens.

The Office on Aging and Disability Services, located at 27 Warren St. in Somerville, will be closed to walk-ins on Friday for the safety of patrons.  Clients needing information and assistance may call 908-704-6346 or toll free 1-888-747-1122.

The Office of Veterans Services, also located at 27 Warren St., will be closed to walk-ins.  For information related to veterans services, call Peter Niemiec at 908-704-6357.

To be notified by e-mail about snow closings and other county-related issues, sign up for the county’s free e-mail subscription service at www.co.somerset.nj.us/subscribe.html.
