Tuesday for a town hall meeting at the . Residents are invited to the forum to hear from Christie and ask questions about policies. And to get you ready for his meeting, we provide five recent policies Christie has enacted that could affect Bridgewater.

  • School Board Elections—Christie recently signed into law a mandate that allows school elections to be moved to November instead of being held in April. The change can be initiated by the board of education, the township council or the residents, by petition.
  • School Sports Wagering—Christie signed a bill that allows for wagering at casinos and racetracks only on certain college sports.
  • Renewable Energy Technologies—Christie signed a bill that forces the BPU to establish standards with local government renewable energy generation demonstration projects.
  • More Renewable Energy—Christie signed into law a bill establishing the “New Jersey Property Assessment Clean Energy [NJ PACE] Municipal Financing Program.”
  • Liability With Hazardous Substances—Christie signed a bill that outlines certain liabilities when there is discharge of hazardous substances from drilling platforms that send the materials into New Jersey waters.
