5 Things to Know About Rawhide Rescue

On Sunday, the , in conjunction with Camp Bow Wow, will be holding a Flapjack Fundraiser to support Rawhide Rescue, a foundation that works to support homeless dogs. The fundraiser will be held at , on Promenade Boulevard, and asks for a $10 donation in exchange for pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs and something to drink. So to get everyone excited for the fundraiser, here are five things to know about Rawhide Rescue.

  • It's 11 years old—Rawhide Rescue was created in 2001 to serve homeless dogs with love and medical care, while it tries to find each one a foster home.
  • Donations welcome—Rawhide Rescue is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, and relies entirely on donations to keep it going to help so many dogs.
  • No shelter—Instead of a shelter with visiting hours, Rawhide Rescue has a network of foster homes to house those dogs that are awaiting adoption.
  • You can sponsor a dog—Anyone can sponsor a dog before it is adopted by paying $25 every month and selecting one special dog. The money through the program helps with basic care of the animals, including food and veterinary costs.
  • So many dogs—Based out of Warren, Rawhide Rescue currently has about 53 dogs of all kinds awaiting adoption—including chihuahuas, terriers and pugs.
