5 Ways to Rid Your Life of Gimmicks

According to Holidays on the Net, today is Rid the World of Fad Diets and Gimmicks Day—and we think that makes for a great opportunity to talk about the five things we can do to celebrate ourselves and just have a good time throughout Bridgewater today.

  • Eat something sweet—That's right, forget those fad diets, and get a taste of something delicious by heading over to the mall for a sweet taste of chocolate at in the Bridgewater Commons Mall, or something homemade at the on Adamsville Road.
  • Buy something new—Don't be afraid to get that new outfit you've been eyeing in the stores by heading over to the and spending a day pampering yourself with shirts, pants, shoes and other goodies.
  • Exercise only because you want to—Still enjoy exercising, but don't want it to be for any real diet? Try ice skating at the or some martial arts at on East Main Street.
  • Spend time with family/friends—Yes it's very cold out, we understand, but is still hosting the Wednesday Duke Island walkers, and it can't hurt to relax with a little outside fresh air—as long as it's not snowing.
  • Pamper yourself—Yes, it's true we have suggested this before, but pampering like this deserves repeating. If you've got any of the winter doldrums, head over to on Route 202 for a nice manicure or massage, or stop over at a nail salon at the mall in the midst of your shopping. Take some time for you!
