Agricultural Representatives Recognized at Annual Dinner

Two Bridgewater residents are recognized at an annual dinner with the New Jersey Department of Agriculture.

The New Jersey Department of Agriculture held its annual Agricultural Convention Delegates' Dinner Feb. 8 to honor people throughout the state who have recent achievements in agriculture.

Rebecca Mueller, of Martinsville, was recognized as the New Jersey State Honey Princess, and Christina O'Brien, of Bridgewater, was recognized as a Somerset County Outstanding 4-Her.

These Bridgewater residents, as well as 27 other New Jersey Fair, Commodity and 4-H youth representatives were presented at the dinner, and honored as the future of the state's agricultural industry.

According to a representative with the New Jersey Department of Agriculture, this dinner is a tradition to honor men and women—dressed formally, and wearing sashes and crowns to represent their positions—are presented as having achievements in agriculture in the state, and are encouraged to pursue careers in that field.

The representatives from the different organizations were chosen by their local agricultural organizations as youth representatives, and, because of their titles, were invited to attend the convention.
