Bridgewater Artist in Eclectic Program on Saturday
Kevin Gora will display latest works at unique forum in Teaneck.
A Bridgewater resident will be one of the artists participating Saturday night in Gyration, a collaborative artistic forum at Mexicali Live in Teaneck.
Kevin Gora will be displaying his latest work — collages, photographs and posters.
Gyration was founded by choreographer Lateefah Fleming, DJ Cloak Dagger, and visual artist Joseph Doeffinger. According to its organizers, Gyration will align these divergent talents by blending the energy of an underground dance party with aesthetics of an art exhibit.
Mexicali Live is located at 1409 Queen Anne Road, Teaneck. Doors will open at 6 p.m.; admission is $12.
Gora was a Merit Scholar at The Hartford Art School in Connecticut where he received a BFA in Experimental Studio in 1994.
In 1998, Gora earned a BS in Industrial Design from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia where he won the Industrial Design Society of America’s Scholarship Award.
After freelancing in industrial design for two years, he co-founded a small bakery in Somerville but in 2009, after seven years, he moved on to pursue his artwork on a full-time basis.
