Bridgewater Resident Receives 4-H Scholarship

Angela Philipsheck is one winner among seven in total.

The recently released the names of seven members receiving scholarships, including Bridgewater resident Angela Philipsheck.

According to the release, a reception was held May 18 to honor the winners, with scholarships being awarded by the Somerset County 4-H Association; the Balliet family; the families of Joseph and Florence Klimas and Rob Fellows; and the Trainmasters 4-H Club.

The scholarship program, the release said, is open to members and alumni from the Somerset County 4-H Youth Development Program, and the winners received a total of $10,000 for continuing education.

Philipsheck, the release said, has been a member of the 4-H for seven years, serving as president, vice-president and historian throughout her years. She has been participating in county presentations and qualified to compete at the State Presentation contest, according to the release.

In addition, according to the release, Philipsheck was the Somerset County Dairy Champion Showman in 2009 and the Outstanding 4-H'er in 2010.

Philipsheck plans to pursue a career as a veterinary technician, the release said.

This year, according to the release, Philipsheck is the recipient of the 4-H Association Scholarship, the 4-H Balliet Scholarship, the 4-H Trainmasters Scholarship and the Rob Fellows Memorial Scholarship.

Other recipients of the scholarships are Christian Posbergh, of Somerville; Sharon Toth, of Hillsborough; Ashley Ward, of Ringoes; William Hartmann, of South Plainfield; Lisa Magulak, of Hillsborough; and Gabrielle Chaya, of Hillsborough.
