Buffets and Games to Celebrate Moms

Your teens are holding a car wash at the high school Saturday. The grandparents volunteered to take the younger children to a movie Sunday afternoon. Your tweens take tap on Wednesday evening. It’s your time. Take it.

Each week, we’ll tell you about one great idea to give you a much deserved break, and make your life a little easier, maybe a whole lot easier.

But come on—with Mother's Day just around the corner, we couldn't ask you to stay away from your family this weekend.

So go ahead, give your mother a hug, and take her out somewhere special to one of these great meals and events on that special Sunday devoted to the most important female in everyone's life.

• Tbones Tuscan Steakhouse, on Commons Way in Bridgewater, is hosting a Mother's Day Champagne Brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The brunch is $53 for adults and $16.95 for children ages four to 12, while children under four years eat free. The buffet, in addition to a champagne and mimosa station that opens at 12 p.m., will offer omelets and Belgian waffles made to order; banana caramel stuffed French toast; fruit carving station; smoked salmon; shrimp cocktail; New Zealand mussels; traditional Caesar salad; heirloom tomato and fresh mozzarella salad; warmed Italian flatbreads with prosciutto ham, fresh mozzarella or wild mushrooms, among other toppings; slow braised beef short ribs; chicken saltimbocca; mashed Yukon gold potatoes; a carving station; pop tarts, pizza bagels and macaroni and cheese, among other items for children; mini cupcakes, assorted mousse; pastries; and mini shot glasses. Mouth watering yet? And that’s just some of what the restaurant will be offering in its brunch.
• is offering a special bonus for those looking to give their mothers a special restaurant gift. For every purchase of $50 in gift cards from the restaurant, they will receive an additional $10 bonus gift card. The cards are available from April 25 through June 19, and have no expiration date.
• The Somerset Patriots will be celebrating Mother’s Day with a pre-game brunch from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., followed by the baseball game and the Fifth Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Day. The entire celebration will be from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
• Bombay Spice, on Prince Rodgers Avenue in Bridgewater, is offering a special Mother's Day buffet Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Rolf's, on Stirling Road in Warren, is holding a Mother’s Day buffet at its restaurant from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The buffet is $25.95 per guest, and $11.95 for children under 12 years of age. Reservations are recommended—to make them, call the restaurant at 908-754-5500.
