Businesses Go On During The Holidays

Not all restaurants and events are planning to close up shop on Thanksgiving.

If you burn the turkey, have a sudden urge to shop or need to run away from your family for a bit, there are doors open in Bridgewater where you can seek refuge.

Read on for a listing of restaurants and businesses throughout town that will be open Thanksgiving Day for any needs that may arise.

Food

Holidays are observed by celebrations, and eating is one of the main ways to celebrate. But if your idea of a celebration is by not cooking or doing the dishes, here are some restaurants that will make your wishes come true on Thanksgiving Day.

  • , at 1288 Route 22, will be open from 3 p.m. to midnight for a Thanksgiving Day Turkey Special for $17.99, and a kid's portion for $9.99. For reservations, call 908-252-1300.
  • Celebrate Thanksgiving Italian Style at , at 600 Commons Way. The menu will include a traditional roast turkey, country-style baked ham, garlic mashed potatoes, salads, pastas, pumpkin praline cheesecake and more. For details, call 908-547-6045. 
  • Other restaurants open on Thanksgiving Day include TGI Friday's, opening at 6 p.m.; Royce Brook Golf Club; , located at 646 Route 202/206, call 908-526-7090; Tierra Del Sol Two, located at 66 South Main Street in Manville, call 908-393-5535; Stoney Brooke Grille on Route 28 in North Branch; and Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge.

  • In preparation for the never-ending, celebratory feast, join the "Break into Education" 10K Fund Raiser being held at Duke Island Park off Route 202.  For more information, visit carmenministries.com/events/.  
  • The 18th annual Center for Educational Advancement and Johanna Foods will hold a 5K Run and 2 Mile Fitness Walk, also known as the Turkey Trot, in Flemington at 9:30 a.m. To register, visit ceaemployment.com.

Shopping

If you prefer multi-tasking, you can get your exercise while you shop at select stores.

  • Open on the evening of Thanksgiving is Flemington's Liberty Village. Select stores—including  Ann Taylor, Bass, Calvin Klein, Carter's, Izod, Limited Editions for Her, Maidenform, Michael Kors, OshKosh B'Gosh, Polo Ralph Lauren, Polo Ralph Lauren Children's, Timberland, Toys 'R' Us Express and Van Heusen—will open Thursday at 10 p.m., and Angelica's Corner and Harry & David's will open Thursday at 11 p.m.
