Senior Health Fair Draws Large Crowd in Fifth Year

Health screenings, flu shots and information draw hundreds to annual fair.

The fifth annual Bridgewater Senior Health Fair, held Thursday at the senior center, enjoyed more vendors booths—and more residents taking advantage of the information and help available at the event.

The fair drew more "vendors"—participating companies and agencies offering information and services—than previous years, with a total of 42 on hand in the center's meeting room.

The room quickly filled after the 10 a.m. opening, which was good news for those vendors.

"This is very good," exhibitor Jay Rayes, of Right at Home Home Care, said. "These shows are good to let the seniors know these services are out there."

Rayes said today marked his fourth such fair, with each one offering a chance for him to explain the home services his company provides for seniors. "It's the exposure, but more than that, the branding," he added.

The fair included health screenings with medical professionals, flu shots, Sheriff's Deputies on hand to collect medications for disposal, drawings, refreshments and more.
