Letter To The Editor: Mayor Hayes Responds To Concerns Over Distractions At Memorial Day Ceremony

This letter was submitted by Mayor Dan Hayes of Bridgewater. 

Dear Ms. Ericksen:

Thank you for sharing your concern with my Office. I received the same information and request from Councilwoman Rose and Councilman Kurdyla who attended the event.  

I have spoke to Diane Bellinger, President of Bridgewater Baseball and the Recreation Department, and both readily agreed to change the schedule next year so that no games are played in the morning.  

Diane and Bridgewater Baseball do many programs throughout the year in support of our military and veterans and would not want to detract from their sacrifices in any way.  I think we all share a high level of gratitude towards our veterans and will do whatever we can to keep the spirit of the Day of Remembrance intact.
