Lobosco Remembers Son, Receives Honor for Service

County residents are honored for their service in Vietnam.

The American Veterans Traveling Tribute came to Bridgewater last week to honor men and women who gave their lives—and the memorial hit close to home for many county and township residents.

According to an article on NJ.Com, Bridgewater resident Bob Lobosco, also a former Vietnam-era veteran was on hand as one of many honored for his service—but he also visited the wall to remember his son, Andrew, an Army staff sergeant killed in Afghanistan in August 2009.

At the opening ceremony Thursday at , Lobosco was presented with a commemorative medal from the county, as one of many veterans. All Vietnam veterans from Somerset County, and the families of those who are deceased, were honored with the medals.

The tribute was at the park from Oct. 13 through Oct. 16, and residents from all over the county were invited to check out the that is a replica of the one in Washington D.C., and to pay their respects to the 34 county residents who gave their lives in the service in Vietnam. Ceremonies throughout the weekend also honored .
