Eight-year-old Ariana McGuire celebrated a year after the incident.

A Bridgewater girl is on the continued road to recovery a year after being accidentally shot by an arrow between the eye and nose at a home on Sussex Avenue, according to an article on nj.com.

Ariana McGuire, now 8 years old, has made what has been called a miraculous recovery after eight surgeries and other procedures to care for her following the incident that resulted in a stroke and bleeding, the article said.

According to the article, McGuire—who has a scar on the left side of her forehead and has lost most function on her right side—and her family celebrated her continued recovery at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital's Level 1 Trauma Center in New Brunswick, who handled her surgeries.
