"Screen Free Week" At Bradley Gardens School, May 5 To May 11

"Screen Free Week", formerly known as, "Turn Off the TV Week" is a worldwide celebration that has been encouraging people to break free from television and all screens (except for work and school work) since 1994.

Instead of watching TV, surfing the web, or playing video games, all people will  read, play, think, create, get physically active, and spend more time with friends and family. It takes place this year from May 5-11.

Bradley Gardens School is accepting the challenge with their special motto, "Turn off the show. Get up and GO!" Mrs. Heather Diafiorli-Day, Mrs. Jennifer Minnichelli and Ms. Ellen St. Pierre and several other teachers at Bradley Gardens School are gearing the students up for the event with a RAP song and by helping the students brain storm fun and creative ideas for activities to do during the week.

The students kicked off the week at their school-wide meeting by singing the song together.  Several teachers volunteered their time by staying after school to decorate the hallway by hanging many items that would be a healthier alternative to sitting, and watching shows instead!
