Looking for exciting weekend activities and family-friendly fun? You're in the right place.

It's the last weekend before Thanksgiving, and while everyone is focused on buying food and preparing for the large family gatherings, we've got some great activities happening in your backyard to give you some relaxation.

There's plenty of things going on, and below is the combination of our weekly pick of weekend activities and our Grab & Go Kids Planner, offering both fun weekend activities and great family-friendly fun at the same time.

"The Doctor in Spite of Himself"
Where/When: Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Bridgewater-Raritan High School.
Why Go: To watch the high school drama club perform "The Doctor in Spite of Himself," the fall show that promises physical comedy and other hilarious moments.
Cost: $5 for students with an id and $7 for community members.

Bridgewater Goes Green
Where/When: Friday at 11 a.m. at the municipal complex at 100 Commons Way.
Why Go: To celebrate Bridgewater being a sustainable town with a designation of the entryway into the municipal complex as a Green Street, and the award of a $10,000 green home makeover to a Bridgewater resident.
Cost: Free.

Somerset County 4-H Association Vendor & Crafter Sale
Where/When:
Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Rutgers Cooperative Extension on Milltown Road.
Why Go: To go to your one-stop shopping place at the 4-H for its annual vendor and craft sale with more than 40 local crafters and other vendors. Participating vendors include Silpada Designs, PartyLite, Pampered Chef, Longaberger, Tastefully Simple, Usborne Books, anddoTerra.
Cost: Prices determined by the vendors.

Murder Mystery Dinner
Where/When:
Saturday at 7 p.m. at Maggiano's Little Italy on Commons Way.
Why Go: Because murder is in the air for the restaurant's special dinner that will take guests back to the 1950s for an "American Grandstand" episode. The show will also feature a full-course dinner.
Cost: $70 a person.

Temple Sholom Gift Fair
Where/When:
Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Preschool Place and Kindergarten on North Bridge Street.
Why Go: Because it's time to buy those Hanukkah gifts, and the temple's sisterhood will be offering all kinds of items, including jewelry, handbags and kitchen gadgets.
Cost: Prices depends on items.


When/Where: Saturday 1 p.m. at .
Why Go: Teams of middle school students pit their Lego robot creations against each other.
Cost: Free.


When/Where: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 7 p.m. at Montgomery High School.            
Why Go: It’s a family-friendly version of the motion picture that’s meant to entertain everyone.
Cost: $10

When/Where: Friday 7 p.m. at the .
Why Go: Because it’s an exercise program that combines dance moves with high-energy music. And you’ll secure a spot in the 4-week series at the library.
Cost: Free.

Photography 11 Exhibit
Where/When: The monthlong exhibit and sale featuring 28 area photographers will continue on weekends through November at the center on King George Road in Basking Ridge. The show will continue from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Why Go: To view and possibly purchase works by some of the area's most talented photographers.
Cost:
Free, bring your wallet.

Turkey Trot
When/Where: Check in for this 5K run and 1-mile health walk is 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Sunday at Mountain Park on Martinsville Road by Mountain Road in Basking Ridge. The walk begins at 9:30 a.m. and the 5K run leaves the gate at 10 a.m.
Why Go: All ages can stretch their legs one way or another the weekend before stuffing themselves on Thanksgiving. The run benefits the William Annin Middle School PTO. Participants are asked to bring non-perishable goods to donate to the FoodBank Network of Somerset County.
Cost: Preregistration $20, $25 on day of race.
