Veterans to be Remembered in Ceremonies

With Friday being Veterans Day, there are plenty of options this week for honoring those who gave their lives for this country—of course there's also some Pokemon.

There's plenty of things going on, and below is the combination of our weekly pick of weekend activities and our Grab & Go Kids Planner, offering both fun weekend activities and great family-friendly fun at the same time.

Where/When: Friday at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park on Chimney Rock Road in Martinsville.
Why Go: To honor veterans who have served the nation with the Martinsville Volunteer Fire Company and township officials.
Cost: Free.


Where/When: Friday at 11 a.m. at the on Old York Road in Bridgewater.
Why Go: To honor veterans who have served the nation with the American Legion and township officials.
Cost: Free.

Photography 11 Exhibit & Sale
Where/When: The monthlong exhibit and sale featuring 28 area photographers will open with a reception Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the  center at 650 King George Road in Basking Ridge. The show will continue from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays through Nov. 27.
Why Go: To view and possibly purchase works by some of the area's most talented photographers, plus live music by Maura and Shannon Glynn. 
Cost: Free, bring your wallet.


Where/When: 
Warren Township Library, Saturday at 2 p.m.
Why Go: Traveling Literary Theater presentation includes two readers sharing personal accounts of World War II through selected letters, personal accounts and quotes in between singer Maggie Worsdale singing songs from the era.
Cost: Free.


Where/When: Saturday at the Comic Cafe, at 41 Mountain Blvd. in Warren from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Why Go: To join fellow Pokemon fans, trade cards and cash in points.
Cost: Free.
