Escape to a World of Fairies and Romance on a Summer Night

Outdoors performance of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at Pleasant Valley Park in Basking Ridge continue this week.

Your teens are holding a car wash at the high school Saturday. The grandparents volunteered to take the younger children to a movie Sunday afternoon. Your tweens take tap on Wednesday evening. It’s your time. Take it.

If you haven't seen it already, The Trilogy Repertory Company's production of  the second half of the Bernards Township "Plays in the Park," series, will continue this Thursday through Saturday at the outdoor amphitheater at  in Basking Ridge.

The is scheduled to be presented again at 8 p.m. each evening. The play is free, but donations are welcomed.

For those who may have forgotten, the fanciful Shakespeare comedy portrays the events surrounding the marriage of the Duke of Athens, Theseu, and the Queen of the Amazons, Hippolyta. Such mishaps include the adventures of four young Athenian lovers and a group of amateur actors, who are manipulated by the fairies inhabiting the forest where the play is set.

The play is directed by William J. Ward, of Basking Ridge, with a cast of more than 30 people from the Trilogy Repertory. The longtime theater company is based in Basking Ridge. More information the company is available online.
