Successful Six Head to Carnegie Hall

Six Bridgewater students piano players recently won the Crescendo International Music Competition.

Six local Bridgewater students, under the tutelage of Julia Reina, of The Reina School Of Piano, recently participated in The Crescendo International Music Festival and were awarded first and second places, with the opportunity to perform next at Carnegie Hall Saturday.

The Crescendo International Music Competition is an annual competition held in various venues throughout New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Canada, Germany, Austria and Russia. The children were judged on criteria that included interpretation, technique, memorization and artistic maturity.

The student winners were Adora Rao, 6; Arjun Agrawal, 7; Anika Kathuria, 8; Anjali Kapadia, 9; Diya Gandhi, 10; and Sourabh Chakraborty, 13. They will next perform at a winners recital at Carnegie Hall in New York.
