Bridgewater Alum Named Associate Principal at Architecture Firm

Alexis Goldman promoted in Solutions Architecture reorganization.

Newark-based architecture firm Solutions Architecture recently underwent an exciting infrastructure change with the promotion of Alexis Goldman from project manager to associate principal.

Goldman has been an integral part of the firm’s team since 2010 and has played the part of both architect and designer in addition to project manager. The promotion shifts responsibility for design management to Goldman and reflects her position and influence in the organization.

As a registered NJ architect, LEED Accredited Professional and Certified Document Technologist, Goldman has been instrumental in a number of important Solutions Solutions Architecture founder Frank Messineo describes Goldman as his “go-to person.”

He identified the recent Fairfield Library renovation as one of her most notable projects, completed in September 2012. The redesign included a new children’s area, a multipurpose room for township use, and a café for parents and library events.

“Alexis is young and passionate about what she's doing and the architectural profession as a whole,” said Messineo. "She fits perfectly into the way the firm has grown and the direction we are heading.”

Goldman has more than 10 years of experience in the field and has grown her skills in many areas—from site planning to construction administration. She describes her passion for architecture as something that stems from her “genuine desire to create better environments for people to inhabit.”

“I have been challenged by a variety of project types and have developed a broader perspective and knowledge of the public’s needs and experiences," she said. "In addition to my commitment to the public experience, is my dedication to the sustainability of the environment itself, through the incorporation of ‘green’ architecture into everyday. "

A 2002 graduate from the New Jersey Institute for Technology, Goldman is involved in a number of professional organizations. Her affiliations include the American Institute of Architects, the US Green Building Council, the Vision 42 Initiative, Transportation Alternatives and the NJIT Greek Housing and Alumni Councils. She grew up in the Bridgewater area and graduated from Bridgewater-Raritan High School.

Both Messineo and Goldman identified the importance of Goldman’s strong client
service skills—a cornerstone of the relationships between Solutions Architecture and long-time clients like the Randolph School District. “Alexis is dedicated and competent, she engenders respect of the clients and colleagues—they like her responsiveness and down-to-earth personality.”

Goldman attributes these strong relationships to “careful attention to the client’s needs and realistic interpretations of those needs, in  conjunction with open and honest communication.”

Since October 2009, Solutions Architecture has operated on the principle that
personality, attention and professional, competent service fosters more than just a client list; it brings about successful, lasting relationships.
