The company is opening 10 stores between October and the end of November, including a third New Jersey store in Menlo Park opening Nov. 1 (UNIQLO opened a store at the Garden State Plaza, in Paramus, in 2012).
The company currently operates seven stores in the U.S., as well as online shopping offered on its website. The company also has a app for iPhones and iPads, with Droid versions scheduled to be released later, and plans to bolster its website shopping.
“We are delighted to announce the opening dates of our incredible new locations and can’t wait for our customers to enjoy the shopping experience at a UNIQLO store," Larry Meyer, COO of UNIQLO USA and Fast Retailing Group senior vice president, said. "We have dedicated fans and believe our world class customer service, innovative products, high quality fabrics and large variety of styles made to improve people’s everyday lives will entice a whole new group of customers.”
The company is hiring staff for the Bridgewater location, with applications accepted through the company's website.
Bloomberg.com recently reported the UNIQLO stores are the fastest growing segment of parent-company Fast Retailing, Inc., the largest clothing retailer in Asia.
